Elena Vitanza – AxisVFX : “Early Man”

Elena Vitanza will present AxisVFX works on Early Man.

The Bristol-based team, and Aardman neighbours, helped mould Early Man’s spectacle opening sequence, towering stadium shots, bleak badlands, and atmospheric water, fire and lava effects. All in all, axisVFX delivered 1,350 shots during Early Man’s 13-month production.

Currently operating as a 3D Generalist, Elena Vitanza works across the whole of the Axis 3D department, exemplifying an artistic proficiency derived from an impressive background in both art and science. Initially studying Particle Physics, Elena is also trained classically in Fine Arts and Jazz music. Her incredible repertoire of talents has taken her through a varied degree of roles, teaching painting technique, art history, and human anatomy, before delving into the world of 2D animation. Elena acquired her first taste of 3D working for several architectural companies before transitioning into visual effects at Axis Studios. Applying her insightful knowledge as a multi-talented creative, Elena has worked across Matchmove, Lighting, and Lookdev becoming the Crowd TD for Early Man. With a particular interest in Groom and Character development, Elena can provide a rare insight across all VFX departments.
