The future of film: will Virtual Production solve filmmaking in a pandemic world?

From notions of virtual scouting to what is becoming called ‘Safety Viz’ (planning how to minimize risk on set) and through to digital doubles and LED screens, it seems the world of lens-based production is changing rapidly. What kind of new toolsets and pipelines are emerging in response to Covid, and are they here to stay? Also, how in particular do new entrants into filmmaking, vfx and art direction learn this stuff? Are we at an inflection point for mass adoption of VP as an established set of tools, or is there more disruption to come?
