FEATURED
Recording disclaimer

Women continue to have little or no representation in managerial and leadership positions in the animation sector. The Association of Women in the Animation Industry (MIA) presents the first study carried out in Spain on the role of women and their representation in the sector.

Ten of the fourteen positions studied as characteristic or proper in animated feature films have resulted in a representation of women of 0%
The relationship between gender roles and labor sectors is linked to the position of Production Management where women represent 80%, a position that is associated with aspects of organization, coordination and resource management

According to the president of MIA, Alicia Núñez, “the objective of this social research is to reflect with data how animation continues to be a highly masculinized sector, with little presence of women in managerial positions and with a very stereotyped role in its content.”

We will have the presence of the author of the report and five professionals from the sector. We will evaluate the findings of the report and share experiences and views on the profession.

Moderated by: Marisol Lopez, cultural manager specialized in the digital field and director of the Digital Culture Area at the Catalan Institute of Cultural Companies (ICEC).
