
Introduction to ReDefine with a behind-the-scenes look at the VFX on new science-fiction thriller, Beacon 23 and a technology overview
Join Thomas Hullin (Head of Studio), Luca Vitali (FX Supervisor) & Adrien Saint Girons (Head of the Advanced Development Group) for an introduction to ReDefine, DNEG’s rapidly growing sister company. With sixteen studios established globally since its launch in 2019, ReDefine maintains a boutique mindset and approach while still offering access to world-class creative talent, a proven technology infrastructure, and the global scale of a top-end studio.
Thomas will kick off the presentation with a broad overview of ReDefine and its impressive studio space in Barcelona before Luca offers a look at ReDefine’s work on the recently released sci-fiction thriller series, Beacon 23. Featuring a wide range of incredible VFX work, travel to the milky way with behind-the-scenes details of some of the most interesting aspects of the team’s work on the FX of this impressive series. Luca will then share some of his experiences as a FX Supervisor at studios around the world, as well as his recent developments in FX from a technological perspective.
Finally, Adrien will introduce ReDefine’s newest department, the Advanced Development Group (ADG) which is at the forefront of technological developments in the VFX Industry. He’ll share insights about how studios can leverage real-time technology and artificial intelligence to bring solution-based answers to clients’ needs.

Ponents
Thomas Hullin is Head of Studio at ReDefine Barcelona. Prior to joining the team earlier this year, Thomas was the VP of Product at OneFootball. He has extensive experience in VFX spanning back more than two decades. Originally from France, Thomas obtained his degree in design and animation in Montreal. He began his career as a freelancer before joining ILM in Vancouver and later Rodeo FX back in Montreal. He was promoted to Head of Studio for Rodeo Munich when it opened in 2017. Throughout his career, he has worked on the visual effects of Deadpool, The Legend of Tarzan and the Game of Thrones series, for which he won two VES awards.

Luca Vitali is a FX Supervisor at ReDefine Barcelona. He previously worked as Senior FX Technical Director at ILM Singapore and London. His list of credits includes impressive titles such as Avatar: The Way of Water, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Jungle Book, WandaVision and many more. Before his time at ILM, he also held senior roles at Weta Digital and Lead roles at MPC.

Adrien Saint Girons is a Visual Effects Supervisor based at ReDefine Barcelona studio with more than 17 years of experience in the VFX industry. He is also the Head of the Advanced Development Group, where he is driving the company’s cutting-edge technology and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in visual effects.
He has supervised and led teams of artists on major Hollywood productions including ‘Blade Runner 2049’, which won an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, ‘The Suicide Squad’ directed by James Gunn, and “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Visual Effects.
