We will analyze how to handle the creation of a storyboard to get the characters to move in a coherent way and with meaning from the point of view of the audience. Topics we will work on:
- Screen direction in Western narrative versus Eastern narrative.
- Direction of going to a place versus direction of returning from that same place (camera left vs camera right). Relationship with the axis jump and the 180º rule.
- How to change screen direction in sequence and why.
- Progression of the character’s on-screen position to create visual dynamism within the on-screen direction.
